One of the challenges for Asthma UK's Research and Policy and Public Affairs teams is finding new ways to involve people affected by asthma in our work.

We hope that our new Research and Policy Volunteers (RaP) initiative will be a good start – and that a few people who read this blog will be interested in signing up!

RaP volunteers will play an important role in ensuring that we speak on behalf of people with asthma and that our work meets their needs. We’re after your ideas, opinions and experiences of living with asthma.

There will be opportunities to take part in focus groups and surveys, get involved with campaigning, help develop our research strategy and share experiences of asthma with researchers and politicians.

How much involvement you have is entirely up to you. Activities will take place throughout the year, and you can take part in as few or as many as you like.

To find out more, call us on 08456 03 81 43 or email info@asthma.org.uk.

Also, we're interested to know what you think of the initiative, and if you’ve been involved in anything similar for other organisations. You can either contact us using the details above or add a comment to this post.
