Finally it's here. The Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) strategy, which now contains a chapter on asthma care, is published for consultation today.

Scores of you have already had a say in patient consultation events before Christmas. It's important that we take the opportunity to respond formally to the consultation, telling the DH what we like and what we think is missing.

This is a crucial opportunity to improve asthma care and see the kind of service improvements many of us have been talking about. The document itself will guide the new Respiratory Networks being set up across the NHS in England.

Take a look, give us your views and remember to have your say.

I am so glad asthma has got a chapter in the COPD strategy I have 2 family members that both have asthma dn in the past year both them have also been diagnosed with COPD due to the serveity of the asthma and the lenbght of tiem they have had and been treated for asthma. I also have been imfpormed by my doctor that I am at risk of developing COPD in the future. I am always looking ands readin gup on this condition as I am tring to work out if this condition can be avioded and if so what I have to do to avoid it or at least delay getting this condition. Both my family members are being treated for the COPD and so far are still living a full active healthy life style. I also hope that in the future asthma UK can get asthma recognosed and given it's own stategy as not enough doctors recognise who bad asthma can be amd how fatal asthma is as well
